Germany 2012: High quality but lower quantities
2012 started with very good and sunny weather. From May till July a lot of rain and low temperatures led to a slow flowering and downy mildew. Beginning of August the summer returned and stayed till late September. The harves started late and lasted at Mosel even till November. But the grapes were very healthy and contained enough accidity so that we'll see a lot of great high aromatic wines with enormous minerality!
The quantities vary amongst the different regions: Franken and Pfalz got up to 25 % more meanwhile in Baden, Nahe and Mosel there is a loss of up to 22% due to the bad weather in early summer.
