85% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Noir, extra brut
Wine Advocate # 192 (Dec 2010) Antonio Galloni: 94 Points
The 1999 Extra Brut Prestige Rosé is a marvelous wine, although not one for the timid. A big burst of fruitsweeps across the palate as this vinous, generous Champagne shows off its pedigree and personality. Burnished tones of orange peel, crushed flowers and spices add complexity to the intense fruit. I am not certain how this will age from here, but today the Extra Brut Prestige Rosé offers a fabulous drinking experience. Fasten your seatbelts and buckle your chinstraps! The Extra Brut Prestige Rosé is 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir vinified in oak, with no malolactic fermentation, and subsequently blended through the assemblage method. This bottle was disgorged in May 2010. Dosage is 5 grams per liter. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2019.
